skin creamMy step-grandson Rick is a bit of a handful so raising him can be quite difficult. However he sometimes surprises me with an unexpected gesture of kindness. One of the things he likes to do is massage my hands with skin cream. Rick knows that I keep my skin creams in the bathroom cabinet and if he thinks that I am stressed out he will grab a bottle and do my hands with it. He continues his massage until the skin cream has been absorbed.
I do not mind Rick rubbing skin cream into my hands at all. I actually find the fact that he wants to do this quite sweet because it is one of the ways he shows me that he cares. When he does this it reminds me of rubbing skin cream into my dad’s back when I was small. I did it because I knew he liked it. Such things prove to me that even little children associate skin cream with comfort and kindness. That’s one of the reasons why I don’t think that any bathroom cabinet should be without skin cream.
